@cspanofficial: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the United Nations on Wednesday the world was facing “the most destructive arms race in human history” as he called on the international community to act against Russia, warning their countries could be next. “The 21st century isn’t much different from the past. If a nation wants peace, it still has to work on weapons. It’s sick, but that’s the reality,” he said in an address before the U.N. General Assembly. “Weapons decide who survives.” The Ukrainian leader said recent advancements in drones and artificial intelligence, sparked by Russia’s invasion, presented a unique challenge to world peace. “It’s only a matter of time, not much, before drones are fighting drones, attacking critical infrastructure and targeting people all by themselves,” he said. “We are now living through the most destructive arms race in human history because this time, it includes artificial intelligence.” President Zelensky warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not stop at Ukraine, noting the recent incursions into NATO airspace over Poland, Romania and Estonia. “Stopping Russia now is cheaper than wondering who will be the first to create a simple drone carrying a nuclear warhead,” he said. #zelensky #ukrainewar #unitednations #unga #cspan
