@wwfrank: DC is one of the most expensive cities in the U.S. on paper but in my experience it doesn’t actually have to be that costly. Of course it’s a fun city and fun isn’t always free but DC has some great options. I usually take advantage of those over going out out. That being said I probably save the most by having roommates and cutting down on rent. I could get a lot more granular if you want but here’s the big overview.
