The story isn't the reason I dislike Persona 5. It's the characters, I don't like any of them. They're all unlikable shitheads. 4 is the one with a terrible story, but it has one of the most amazing cast of characters in all gameing.

i normally agree with you but here hell no the reason games are even a thing is because people want to do the thing they see on screen. Spider-man for example people saw the spider-man movie and comic books and went "i wanna swing around new york" so they made a game the reason why games exist is so you can experience and enjoy the story first hand that's why they are so important and popular

persona has been proved multiple times that it doesn't belong in any other medium. It's lifesim elements are important introducing many characters and expanding the world without them interfering with the main story most of the times, but help the main character's growth being more complete, not that he won't need up the same if you don't do everything. Many adaptations sadly miss these ending up being inferior to the game in many aspects
