@yeastmode.ph: Ham and Cheese #empanada No Bake #Recipe ⤵️ ✔️Dough 3 cups all purpose flour (405g) 1 tbsp sugar (12g) 1/2 tsp salt (3g) 3/4 cup cold unsalted butter (170g) 3/4 cup cold water (180ml) ✔️Filling 250 grams ham (cut into small squares) 200 grams cheese (shredded) 80 grams bell pepper (chopped) 80 grams mayonnaise Procedure: 1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt and cold butter (cut into cubes). Rub the mixture together by hand until well combined into crumbs. Add-in the cold water gradually. Mix thoroughly by hand until dough forms. 2. Wrap the dough in plastic then chill / refrigerate it for at least 1 to 2 hours. (For faster chilling, it can be placed in freezer for about 30mins.) 3. Prepare the filling by combining the ham, cheese, bell pepper and mayonnaise. Set aside until ready to use. 4. Roll out / flatten the chilled dough (approx. 3mm thickness). Cut the dough into circles using 5-inch round cutter. Roll out again the excess dough to shape more into circles. This yields 18 pcs. Or you may cut the dough on your preferred size / quantity. 5. Place the filling in the center of each dough circles. Fold over the dough like a half-moon shape then firmly press the edges to seal. Crimp the edges by pinching then pressing with finger or just simply press with fork. 6. Deep fry the empanadas in oil until golden brown. #pastry #cooking #food
