as people said, it’s a moba. tcg moba but a moba. The reason its a moba is because games are defined by their main aspect of play and wincon. If the Wincon of a game is to finish a puzzle challenge its a puzzle. If a game is won by reaching a score or dealing damage through cards and synergy items its a deckbuilder. If the game has you place units that attack automatically, its an auto battler. For this, it’s won by completing a several tasks inside of an arena against another team. Which is a MOBA (noted that FPS and MOBA are seperated by selectivity of the tools and game mechanics and are as such technically different genres despite sharing similar wincons. Deadlock (an edge case) is a Shooter MOBA as a result of the item system, seperate objectives, and overall design philosophy. Shooter is a secondary title.)
