In Pathfinder I used to have a rogue/barbarian PC who was considered completely "hidden" even while moving until she attacked you. She was 5 foot nothing, dressed like Victorian doll complete with a hidden sword parasol, and she was *horrifying* in a fight.

Personally it depends a lot on the character for go to Feats. I do absolutely loooove using Feats to represent different things though, like having Tough be a "barrier" for an Artificer the HP the Feat gives acting as that buffer
