Hey so as an AZ resident now, don’t give people an excuse to think this is ok. They already do and practice it often. Signed - a now AZ resident that sees drunk people on the roads every day.

How about you just don’t drink when you get behind the wheel? I lost my girlfriend to a drunk driver on New Year’s 1999. It changed my life and it changed the lives of her parents too.

“Zero tolerance state.” Arizona DUI penalties are possibly the harshest in the entire USA.

I’m a former prosecutor, I’ve convicted people for DWI/DUI on appreciable impairment. No blood, no blow, just how they looked, smelled, acted, and what they admitted to. It’s certainly tougher, but people need to be more cautious when their stop becomes an impaired driving investigation

I found that out in court that technically it’s impaired to the slightest degree. I was found guilty by a jury of my peers for having 2 drinks

Just don’t drink and drive. As someone who was hit by a drunk driver riding my bike ON THE SIDEWALK as a kid, it’s not worth it. Get an uber, phone a friend, sleep it off in your car- just don’t endanger everyone else.
