wolverine likes to pretend like he doesn't care. but it's a very thin façade, and this is why he's better in X-Men then in his solos generally. for awhile now the solo writers have liked to write him as a gruff, hyper masculine individualist who does nothing but kill people and doesn't care about anything, but wolverine isn't that. he is a gruff macho façade hiding a warm, caring heart. he likes poetry, he speaks Japanese, he collects adoptive daughter figures like pokemon cards. he gives them each affectionate pet names. he is a sweet, gentle caring man who likes to pretend he isn't. like a grouchy grandpa. and he has knives for hands.

I really don't like Wolverine, he's written poorly in 90% of the stuff he's in, and he's super problematic, which, now that I think about? It might be because of how popular he is like, not all iterations are going to land. Kinda like Batman.

for me it's two fold one he's a super cool angry buff dude with knives in his hands but he also has this deep kindness in him thay deapite being betrayed and hurt over and over he still fights for good and grows close to people despite knowing they will probably be hurt he's a bastion of kindness and resilience in a dark world

tbh, there's a lot of reasons. for me personally, it's because I can identify with his powers. im autistic and his powers make him one of the few characters that can smell, hear, and taste the eay I do so he'd understand when I'm having a bad day because the lights are making weird noises and about to burn out, he's also just soft enough to help people in mental or physicsl distress but also just harsh enough to tell someone how it is very bluntly. thats all autism coding. that's what it feels like to be autistic
