My mom just washed her hair out after also having a silk press and is going through exactly what you are. It hurts to see her hair that she proudly took so much care of, loved, and worked so hard to go so badly damaged now from the hair salon. I saw a girl who had similar looking heat damage and she did straw curls on the straightened parts regularly under the dryer and brought back the curl on those parts

I had a pretty similar hair journey to yours where all I ever did was straighten my hair. I even writing a college essay about it. I have taken lots of time off from heat and tried many different products, but still haven’t found the right things for me. What I’ve learned is good oils are a MUST!❤

amike deep conditioners. please. I have curls and I went to get it colored and dried and it still smelled burned after I washed and conditioned twice. they are very helpful

I’ve just been trimming every couple months still figuring out what needs to be done with the amount of damage. Just learned recently it’s best to use no3 after shampoo so😭

I have been there before I went straight to protective styles and the basics with things to strengthen my hair. I am loving learning about all the bond repair products they have now though!
