I explain why I think modal analysis is kind of a waste of time here, @caseyaustinallen and do a harmonic analysis. Obviously, you can think about music however you want. But I do these videos because I used to believe melodic minor was obsolete and modes were important (part of my jazz vibraphone background), and it was only after I studied harmony and counterpoint privately for several years AFTER my composition MA that I realized, I had it backwards. And it was a revelation for my songwriting and composing. I just tried to share because It had such a positive effect on my composing to change how I was thinking But do whatever you feel comfortable with!🙂
