You’re kidding, right why was the kid removed in the first place your community is afflicted with drugs alcohol abuse, sexual abuse and children are removed. It’s a fact. There are 10,000 kids in Manitoba care. The problem lies with the indigenous people.

I’m sick of hearing of child deaths and abuse happening in homes and children’s aid does NOTHING . They need to analyze policies and they need to also hold social workers accountable ! They also need to be checking in on clients . I am a social worker and I’m sick of the system . DO BETTER FOR THE CHILDREN

a lot of foster homes are just in it for the money you shouldn’t be able to foster more then one child unless they’re siblings. CPS needs a revamp, and services for people to keep their kids with staffing supports on reserve so indigenous children can stay with their communities. We need education for families not apprehensions

It’s a systemic problem. Not to take away from this particular situation. But we as indigenous people need to care for our children better and that starts with dealing with our own trauma we haven’t dealt with. We can’t always blame others for not caring properly for our children when our own children are having children

this is sad, sometimes believe it or not kids are safer in their own homes!!! There are some parents going through their own challenges but they absolutely love their children, I've seen it many times.

Not minimizing at all. The care for all kids living in unsafe environments is badly broken. It always has been. Period. It is heartbreaking to hear the stories over the years, things happening to vulnerable children that should not happen. Not in their family homes or foster care, and institutions.

As someone who is in foster care, so many children in care are injustified and there needs to be more help with this huge issue. So many people are affected by it and there’s not much change into helping these children.

In Ontario it is mandatory to become a foster parent. It also helps the staff doing the home studies to assess potential issues and explore these situations through the home study visits
