My introduction into motherhood matters. I was in a relationship with my BD, living together after moving to Texas from Indiana and somehow thought it was acceptableto add motherhood to that. All of these commitments without any real standards or titles associated with it. My expectations after seeing that positive pregnancy test changed instantly and my life at that time wasn’t a reflection of the change that happened in that moment. Truth is, my BD is exactly who he has always been. I dated that, took risks with that and willingly engaged in the things that resulted in motherhood without any regard for myself or my daughter. My introduction into motherhood was a result of a lack of immaturity, non-existent dating standards and a stronghold of lust. I do myself a disservice in healing when I don’t call that introduction for what it is. You have to reveal so you can heal. Revealing may seem harsh but once you acknowledge the hard truth- you will be able to heal from that and not the fantasy of what you’ve created in your head.
