I am a climber, whenever someone talks about climbing Mount Everest I always look at them with disgust. I know that it is a challenge to get to the top, but the effects of the amount of rubbish left on that mountain is not worth the challenge

Pack in, pack out. I do not understand why high altitude climbers refuse to follow what every other decent outdoors person follows. If they can't pack it out, they are too weak to complete the climb.

All the people in the comments have no idea what they are talking about. Sherpas don’t carry them up, they both carry stuff. And the sherpas know the mountain very well so it increases safety. And it is not easy at all, people run marathons in full gear to prepare and still die. And whilst wealthy people do it, it is some people’s life dream so they spend a decade saving. That’s only 13 dollars a week. You can do it on a 9-5. It is still an achievement, only 8000 out of 8 billion have climbed it. Now I agree with her about the littering being horrible. However yall are talking bad for the sake of it.

cant believe people pay as much as they do for their potential 💀, theres other really beautiful, enjoyable and safe hikes in Nepal with comfortable Tea house facilities along the way. This one is Mardi Himal! way better views than the top of everest. Best experience of my life. Genuinely changed me.
