Just use regular bricks, they don’t degrade over time or get broken by hail or people stepping on them.

All rocks and fake ones cause issues with insect especially ants go with the full grass look it's clean looking and easy to maintain

Had something very similar and loved it till spring when the frost lifted and all the stakes came up and stone strips shifted. Ended up fixing it just for it to happen again. Tore it all out and put in stone for a permanent landscaping boarder.
