to be fair, not one verse in the Bible talks about going to church, it only says when two or more gather in my name I will be there. church can be in your living room or in your car, even in the back yard. I don't go to church because I don't believe in denominations that twist the Bible to fit them

my 82 yo mother in law came to live with us she would get angry and leave the room when we prayed together. then one night at 3am she called my wife in her room crying she said will you pray with me I want Jesus in my heart. PRAISE THE LORD NEVER GIVE UP FAITH.

my mom took us to church our whole life. my dad never went until he was almost 70. my mom and dad now attends church every Sunday and Wednesday. never stop asking.

My grandfather never went. He stopped letting my grandmother force the kids to go when they were about 12. If he committed to the relationship with this caviat, then he should attend. Owning your responsibilities is part of the deal.
