Bavarian Donuts 🇵🇭 Super fluffy brioche donuts rolled in sugar and filled with a super light vanilla Bavarian cream filling! 1 tsp McCormick’s Vanilla Flavor 2 & 1/2 cups Bread flour 320g 1 cup fresh milk 240ml 3 tbsp white sugar 38g 1 1/2 tsp instant yeast 5g 1 fresh egg 1/2 tsp salt 3 tbsp unsalted butter / margarine Oil for frying Bavarian Cream Filling 1 tsp McCormick’s Vanilla Flavor 1 tsp McCormick’s Strawberry Flavor 1 tsp McCormick’s Red Food Color 2 egg yolks 1/4 cup sugar 50g 2 tbsp cornstarch 1 cup fresh milk or evap Instructions: Prepare the Dough: 1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk, white sugar, egg, McCormick’s Vanilla Flavor and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, until foamy. 2. In a large mixing bowl, add bread flour. Combine the liquids and bread flour. Gradually add the liquids, one cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. You can also use a stand mixer with a dough hook. Then do the “window pane” method. 3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size. 4. Deflate to release air. Shape, add in a parchment paper and proof again for 45 minutes. 5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the donuts in batches, about 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. 6. Once the donuts are cool enough to handle, use a piping bag fitted with a small tip to fill them with the chilled Bavarian cream. 7. Dust with powdered sugar or roll in granulated sugar to coat. @mccormickphils Baking techniques and recipe from my mentor, Chef Ernie Babaran 🥰 #ThePowerOfOneDrop #ChefYlyt #EasyRecipes #bavarian #donut #pinoyfood #pinoy #foodieph #pastry #bread #breadmaking #homecooking #tinapay #TheChefYlytTV #Foodie
