*FLASH WARNING* Tried something different in terms of the elements in the edit, but went with something extremely basic when it comes to the scenes lol. I think Gojo in Shibuya meeting Geto again is the scene I see edited the most in the whole jjk fandom, but I don’t complain because it’s probably my favorite specific passage too. I’ve always said that, in the whole Satosugu dynamic, this is (to me) the most tragic part. And exactly because of its tragedy, I love everything about it. There are way too many details in this scene worth pointing out: first and foremost how love was the only effective weapon against Gojo (we could also talk about the similar situation in Shinjuku), how we see him this vulnerable only once before this (namely when he finds out what Geto did), how Geto still finds a way to try stopping Kenjaku and many more which we all know. A few details I included here that I think are worth mentioning: Gojo’s heartbeat at first is around 70 BPM, since he had just fought (and had also seen the Prison Realm), so I think that’s pretty realistic. When you experience a major shock, your BPM can spike up to 150 for a few seconds, so that’s what I went with for the moment he sees Geto. Satoru’s memories in this edit are in a specific order (if you watch closely, they’re not chronological). I put the happy ones first, because given that Gojo initially thought Kenjaku *really* was Geto and even smiled, I think those were the first memories that came to his mind: the happy moments and everything good they shared together. Of course, when you think about someone whose story with you ended so badly, it’s inevitable that after that flash of good memories you immediately recall the tragic ones (in my opinion is the opposite, but apparently not in Gojo’s case since he initially smiled and was kind of relieved, so). Thus, when Geto’s death scene came to his mind, I think what led to it did too, namely the moment Geto left him. In my mind, this is what brings Gojo back to reality (I know canonically it was the sealing, but I doubt he would have kept reminiscing about their teenage years for more than a few minutes regardless). Not so much the moment he killed Geto—because at that point Gojo had somehow already resigned himself to how things had turned out—but rather the moment Geto left him, which, in my opinion, was probably the biggest shock for Gojo (i’m NOT saying that Geto’s death didn’t impact him or stuff like that). Killing Geto was, in a way, consistent with Gojo’s role as the strongest and with his detachment, so I think he had already accepted that sooner or later he might have to do it. If Geto had managed to stay hidden and never be caught, I don’t think Gojo would have gone looking for him just to kill him (the proof are the ten years I guess). Hence, up to a certain point, that was something he could still control. But not Geto leaving him, which hit Gojo deeply on an emotional level. It was something he couldn’t predict or control—something he’s not used to being the strongest and being Geto someone on who Gojo relied a lot. Lastly, of course, the one-minute countdown in this edit isn’t actually one minute; I just had to shorten it for editing purposes. Thankfully I managed to post this only a week after my previous edit!!! I’m happy about that and I’ll try to keep the same pace with the next ones (I already have a few ideas but both will involve tshd). I just hope this one doesn’t flop because I spent a ridiculous amount of time on it.
