I worked in retail and we werent allowed to tell ppl we were closed. It was effing insane. And once the lights automatically turned off they still stayed and shopped! So rude. Hate the public.

yeah. the kitchen ain't waiting. if it closes at 11 they gone at 10:59. I sont know a single boh employee that doesnt work 2 jobs. some get up at 4am to work at 1 job to come and close right after.

I love that restaurants are starting to put a kitchen closing time and restaurant closing time on doors. restaurants should absolutely stop taking orders 30-60 min before closing time.

15+ years as a server/hospitality here. Im working on a cafe/bistro business model; an hour to close will be limited menu and non alcholic drinks only. it will be posted and verbally notified.

I worked at a place that had a closing time along with when the kitchen closed. The owner was very strict about it once closing time people were asked did they need a box to pack up there food…they had boundaries and those were heaven…no substitutions allowed leave when closed whole party had to be there to be sat.. I don’t miss serving anywhere though

Yeah it basically means that they are doing last call like 25 minutes late for you. They are doing you a favour. They need to cash out and close everything and their manager is pestering them in their ear to finish even though they allowed them to serve you.

The most annoying thing in a restaurant is people who think they are going to get opening service at closing. Bar closes, cooks clean up, and servers are left waiting for rude customers, that are not going to tip and stay just so you can't go home🤨🤔
