it got to 290°. all your seals are now cooked. even if it does go into gear and drive that trans is on borrowed time

transmissions can overheat and cuase the transmission boil over pour out ...not good for the transmission

These 4L transmissions HATE getting hot, definitely would install that trans cooler and keep the temp up on the Holley screen
