Nepal Police today arrested Indian police officers who crossed into Nepali territory armed — a brazen breach of sovereignty that demands swift, uncompromising action from Kathmandu. This is not a “border incident” to be shrugged off: it’s an armed intrusion on Nepali soil and an assault on our national dignity. Reports say the Indian personnel entered covertly on an apparent mission and were found carrying weapons. Nepal’s arrest of those officers must be followed by immediate, transparent legal action, formal diplomatic protest, and guarantees that this will not be swept under the rug. Allowing armed foreign forces to operate inside Nepal — even “during a chase” or “by mistake” — sets a dangerous precedent. This is not the first time: similar incidents — including the 2016 case where Indian police were detained after illegally entering Nepal with an AK-47 and pistol — show a worrying pattern. Kathmandu must stop treating these as one-off mistakes and start treating them as violations that require firm deterrence. Demand to Nepal Police and the Government of Nepal Charge and prosecute those who violated Nepalese law — no backroom handovers. Publicly release the facts: where, when, how many, and what weapons were seized. Nepali citizens deserve transparency. Lodge an immediate, strong diplomatic protest with New Delhi and seek assurances (and verifiable mechanisms) that such cross-border operations will not recur. Temporarily tighten border controls and increase patrols until both countries agree on clear protocols for any cross-border pursuit or joint operations. If Kathmandu fails to act decisively now, it will invite more intrusions and undermine Nepal’s sovereignty. Nepal Police — show the courage the nation expects: pursue the case fully, press charges, and make sure this ends with accountability, not an embarrassed handshake. (References: Nepal Police detention reports and historical precedents. For background reading on past incidents and related diplomatic responses, see reports from Republica, Kathmandu Post and other local outlets.) #news #fyp #fyppppppppppppppppppppppp #genz #foryoupagе
