No one in Korea thinks hanbok is tacky it’s just not simple to wear daily and most people had that suffered in a polyester one sweating on the holidays experience like we did in the US with an itchy suffocating holiday outfit

one of my co-teachers (in a public school) would wear this modern hanbok style outfit to work! I loved it and wish id asked her where to buy them. it was very casual but also classy.

Koreans don’t consider hanbok to be tacky at all; they simply don’t wear it on a daily basis because it isn’t practical. And you’re dressed like you’re about to go on stage for a performance.

I saw hanbok in many places. Weddings, 100day celebration for the child, funerals, church services, chuseok celebrations. I wish people would stop misinforming others when it is obviously their own opinion which you are allowed to have.
