Just before my dad died he asked me to please find out what was wrong with him…my mom didn’t do an autopsy and I was furious….jump ahead two years I find I have a half sister….and she’s having the same symptoms my dad had….she got a diagnosis just prior to her death….ive since found out I have it as well….very rare genetic disorder called Porphyria. I’m so happy that you were able to get a diagnosis. Most people don’t understand what it’s like not being able to get a diagnosis….I was 46 when I got mine….my dad died at 55 and my sister at 53….ill be 55 this year

Having a genetically rare child is such an odd place to be. Yes, cerebral palsy is technically a correct diagnosis for my daughter. But also, she is one of NINE people ever diagnosed with her genetic condition. Which overrides her CP by leaps and bounds.
