@celestialgardensystem: My inner child gets so sad for the things I didn't have, but I, as a parent, am so happy I did the work to heal and make sure I'm a safe person for my daughter. She's my whole world and I would do anything for her, even and especially the difficult work of addressing and processing childhood trauma. #childhoodtrauma #ptsd #cptsd #safespace #parenting
"She's *not* afraid of me." Crazy how many of us grew up terrified of the people who were supposed to love and protect us. Incredible ancestral healing you are doing! 🙏🏻

Whenever someone in our house makes a loud noise we just say "sorry" super loud so everyone know we aren't angry.

Not only that, but the children who were intimidated and harmed by their parents will try to be loud and intimidating to control others since it's what they learned but your child will be immune to it since they weren't traumatized as a child. Your child will see it for the small, ridiculous tantrum for control that it is and know how to just walk away.

teaching preschool students socioemotional skills and watching them use the skills has done more for me than most talk therapy tbh. like oh this kid is going to have a better emotional state than i had growing up. how wonderful is that

I'm still scared of loud noises-ESPECIALLY the loud kitchen noises 😟 Hearing your child not even have a flinch and be totally fine with something like that is so sweet! I'm proud of you! ❤️🩹

if my child ever FEARS me, I'll never forgive myself. even if they're able to move past it, I'll never forgive myself.

I have a personal question, DID system here wondering how it would be like to be a parent, do you tell your child about DID in simple terms? or do you tell them when they grow up? I have this fear of causing harm simply because "I" wouldn't be consistent, I'm afraid that to a child my behaviour would be unpredictable if that makes sense.

So happy to hear that, i do hope i can be the same when i have kids. Just be a dad who they are open about their emotions with, and dosent bad mouth or put them down. Do they dint have to adult from a early age.... like me.
