@bdccarpenter: Deadlifting at 70 years old. I saw this amazing video showing the progress of a woman with arthritis, going from struggling to walk to now deadlifting over 100kg (220lbs). This is an amazing video but I think it is actually even more amazing than most people realise. Resistance training is great for health and longevity, especially as you get older. It isn’t just about young people trying to get muscles, it can help offset frailty and sarcopenia. It can help keep people stronger and more mobile in their later years, decreasing the risk of falls, fractures and broken bones. There's a whole ginormous gym near me that while open to all, specifically targets older people. The older, the better. They have in house physiotherapy and everything.

Hi Ben, hope you’re well bud, I trained with u a few times at Bannatynes in Banbury 💪🏼 so could either shed your views on teenaged taking protein powder and creatine? My son is nearly 15 and is weight training 2-3 times a week, plus football training and games on Sat and Sundays all at a high level. He’s naturally ripped but wants to get bigger and stronger, so my question is.. is it safe to take supplements. Cheers bud 👍🏻

I started weight training in my 40s bc I didn’t want to be huffing and puffing in a spin class during g a pandemic. I can’t overstate how much my life and health has improved since. Being able to just pick heavy shit up and walk across a room makes a massive difference in my everyday existence.

At my gym we have a 70y.o couple who does light, but stable weight training AND a few 15 y.o boys. Every time I see either of them I feel a strange sense of pride for my people 🥰 We are not a lost cause if all generations care about their health
