Likes and views don’t pay the bills. But that doesn’t mean they don’t matter. They absolutely do. The problem is most 7–8 figure companies don’t know how to actually measure their content and social media efforts. So they end up focusing on surface-level metrics only. (Likes, views, how many posts they do per week, etc.) OR They dismiss all of those metrics and say, “If it doesn’t drive leads this week, what’s the point?” One is missing the bigger picture. The other misunderstands how content marketing actually works. So here's some help on this. This is how we measure success (I break this down into two core sections) 1.) The Metrics 2.) Industry Impact 1.) THE METRICS Engagement Metrics: Are people actually paying attention? This includes views, comments, shares, and direct feedback from the right buyers. It tells you whether your content is resonating and worth producing more of. Buyer Intent Metrics: Are prospects taking the next step? -Profile visits -Website visits/clicks -Opt ins (Newsletter, etc.) It’s the early movement that shows your content is motivating people to take action and take the next step with you. Business Impact Metrics: Are we seeing real business results from our content? -Meetings booked -Clients won -Revenue generated When all three buckets are working together, you get a clear picture of how content is moving your business forward. You also can hold people accountable and coach around this too. 2.) INDUSTRY IMPACT Metrics matter, but there’s a bigger question: How are you actually shaping and impacting your industry as a whole? How are you influencing the direction of your industry? For us, that mission is simple: Helping 7–8 figure B2B companies build in-house content operations and own their brand instead of outsourcing everything to agencies. So when I hear companies say, “We decided to bring our content in-house,” Or I see other content agencies shift from “done for you” to “build with you,” .....I know our work is creating real change and making a difference. #contentmarketing #b2bmarketing #socialmediamarketing
