Too close and need to move in smooth straight lines, horizontally, along the length of the body, top to bottom 👍

rough collie owner here 🙋♀️I agree with too close. I blow from about 12 inches away from the coat and only in the direction of the hair growth, i don't blow my show boy out, but my senior gets his blown out and that's what works for him

My 20lb MAS it does the same thing. Much better when I use it after a bath and brush as I go. It does take a long time even with a little dog….her fluff is much finer than my others.

When had my daughters mix of golden and shepherd blew hair one way and used rake with other hand at same time. Worked slick he had thick undercoat

That’s how I do it. Just takes longer bc of the long undercoat. Then I use my shedding blade to get it where is clumps by her bhtt bc of her missing leg she is sensitive and won’t let me brush the stump.

You want to pull it in & out. As soon as we bathe the dog, I’ll show you.

I think you're too close. I can see the hair twirling which would cause those little whip knots. it may just not be a strong enough drier. in which case move it back a bit and brush at the same time.
