Combat-proven but limited numbers. J-20 Mighty Dragon (China): Bigger, longer range, more missiles, modern sensors, but weaker stealth, engines, and agility. Not yet combat-tested. ✅ Overall (2025): F-22 is still ahead. J-20 is improving fast but hasn’t matched Raptor’s full tech yet.

The F35 is EMALS capable, the USS Gerald Ford however isn’t, at least not yet. The problem with the ford not launching F35’s doesn’t have to do anything with EMALS but with 1. The deck 2. De C2 systems of the F35 and 3. The certification. the last one is on the way right now

Read an article more than a decade ago about how the F-35 program was meant to “future-proof” America’s fighter jet program. It explained that the F-35, by virture of its flawed design, is expected to fail but the knowledge gained from its development, de facto paid for by America’s allies, will ensure US leadership in burgeoning drone/swarm fighter technology for generations to come. I regret not archiving the article, it was taken down not long after.
