I love how above all else Majin Vegeta is a big allegory for relapsing. Most people look at Majin Vegeta and see him as super cold or badass or evil, but I just feel so sad for him because I see a man who’s HURTING. In ways that he doesn’t even understand. Vegeta was in a time of peace and yet he still felt internally threatened and decided to lash out as that’s all he knew how to do. To me, Vegeta succumbing to the Majin form is the equivalent of when someone is so at the end of their sanity and patience that they just go somewhere secluded and SCREAM to let it all out. Or in other words, this is Vegeta crashing out (by the ACTUAL definition of the word) because he doesn’t know what else to do.

I get that people don’t like this monologue compared to the original but I think it really captures the humanity in Vegeta in this scene despite him being evil. He’s trying to burry deep his emotional attachments despite them still being a part of who he is. It’s a moment of him trying to convince himself and Goku that he’s the heartless killer he once was but his vulnerability still slips out. It shows such a vast amount of emotions in just one scene.
