@thephysiofix: stroke rehab with stacie | episode 1 When my husband Logan had a hemorrhagic stroke one year ago, he didn’t just face brain trauma—he also battled acute respiratory distress syndrome, pneumonia, lung failure, pulmonary embolisms, and multiple infections. He spent nearly 2 months in the hospital, and inpatient rehab didn’t even start until about 6 weeks in. But I couldn’t just sit and wait. From day one, I started finding creative ways to get him moving again—using his bed, bands, and whatever equipment was around. This session focused on: ➡️ Upper & lower body strengthening ➡️ Lower body stretching (his hips have always been tight—even before the stroke!) ➡️ Restoring movement in his upper extremities I’m a firm believer that strength is the basis for function. You have to be strong before you can be truly functional. That’s why we started strengthening from the very beginning—even if it took extra time and effort to set things up. If you have a loved one recovering from a stroke, these are the kinds of exercises I would recommend trying safely in the hospital to get them moving again. 💬 Drop your questions below—I’m here to help. #strokerehab #thephysiofix #strokerecovery #neurorehab #inpatientrehab

Neuro PT here. As soon as I heard “he had three hours of PT in rehab, then we did three to five more hours of therapy together” I knew that was the secret sauce.

I work in a hospital, and most patients didn’t get more than 15 mins of PT. Movement was a huge factor in his recovery ❤

As a current SPT, this is so touching. My dad had a stroke when I was very young which is why I chose this profession in the first place🥹
