the nausea was CRAZY. It definitely turned down the cravings, but I couldn't handle the nausea.

I tried taking naltrexone two separate times. both times it was completely ineffective for me. it didn't stop me from drinking at all. it helped me moderate for a bit but I didn't work out for me. for one of my close friends, though, it was a miracle and really really helped her

I tried it once and it made me so sick. When my son asked what it was like, I told him it was like all the fogginess and sickness of a hangover with none of the fun of being drunk.

I stopped drinking but always kinda thought having a drink sounded good borderline craving. I started a glp1 and I hadn’t craved a drink at all since May. There’s something to that I think!

I e been taking it and it does keep the cravings super low … I just started the injection vitriol last month and for me it has the same effect . Sorry I missed the poll ! I’m sober now just under 5 months

It worked for me. I drank half immediately and you hardly notice it’s I resisted it for years and was very pleasantly surprised just to drink less and start on the journey

I've taken it for some time and it helps! I pretty much immediately cut my normal drinking by half. My biggest problem is the OCD and routine of drinking which is just rude of my brain tbh

I did 1/2 a pill, I'll finish, I got worried my anesthesia wouldn't work for my wisdom teeth.. so far I'm at almost 3 weeks. I have a party, I plan on taking it then, I had absolutely no desire to drink while on it!

It helped my dad for quite awhile a couple decades ago and then it was much much newer, I remember it being like “there’s this new thing to try” in our little tiny town and we had to go to Mayo Clinic an hour away to get it, but as soon as he stopped taking it, he went right back, twice as hard. But I think it was a very helpful tool if you were doing other work at the same time, and he wasn’t just dry drinking it 🥺🥺🥺

I drank through the entirety of taking naltrexone because I didn’t do the self work. I went to detox and treatment. I started digging deeper. Working steps. 2.5 years sober now.

I took it for a while last year, but still drank bc I wasn’t ready to give it up yet. I’m starting it again today because I’m ready for it now 💪

I take 50mg a day - which is on the low end of a dose and I haven’t had any negative side effects luckily and I really have not experienced any cravings since getting sober. 85 days in and I think it’s been a very helpful tool for me

This is how I feel about suboxone. Soooo many holier than thou folks in recovery look down on it. Harm reduction works and that’s on period

I took disulfiram, stays in your system for two weeks and you CANNOT drink because it stops your body from being able to digest alcohol so you’ll end up in the hospital if you drink. I liked making that choice once and then drinking just not being an option for two weeks. It stopped the noise in my head and took away the choice to drink so it made it a lot easier

I take naltrexone everyday and it’s what helped me stay sober. It was that last thing that I needed to keep me on track. A daily reminder and of course all the work I put in therapy.
