Well, I invest in very cheap slippers in various sizes because I had two things in common with her : 1) I don’t want people to be inconfortable or cold at my house 2) I don’t want to see their feet either. But I don’t want dirty shoes in my houses. Solution : slippers for everyone.

In our cultures and religion (Islam ), it is considered very disrespectful to walk into someone’s home with shoes on. As Arab Muslims, our homes are not only living spaces but also places of prayer and worship, so we take extra care to keep them clean and pure. Shoes carry dirt, germs, and all kinds of impurities from the outside even things like mud or animal waste,which we don’t want to bring indoors. Out of respect for the household and its cleanliness, it is always expected to remove your shoes before entering.

thats is why we have separate Guest rooms in middle east and Asia where we comfortably take off showes outside the guest room door. unlike western countries where everything housed in one place so it's obvious to leave the shoes at the entrance of home before entering and navigating to the living room.
