@deliasnailstudio: Proper maintenance must be performed every 2 to 3 weeks, depending on how fast the client’s nails grow. Properly maintaining nails is a critical skill for you to learn, if you choose to offer nail enhancement services for your clients. Do not let clients go too long without having a proper maintenance service, or you will have more repairs to perform when they return. This is from part of a paragraph from the Milady standard nail tech book from Chapter 17 titled Monomer liquid and Polymer powder nail enhancements. #nailfills #nailmaintenance #miladystandardnailtech #naileducation #nailtechtiktok
They can charge more for the soak off AND a full set.

I don’t use the term fill I use the term rebalancing the nails because I see my clients on a 4 week basis

i rebalance at 3 and 4 wks only. Most won’t schedule at 2 wks and i refuse past 4 wk nails after 4 wks it’s a removal and reapplication

Kimberly Campbell :
Immy guess is some techs don’t fill because they struggle with controlling small amounts of acrylic and also think think their sets maybe aren’t structurally sound in 3-4 weeks.

nail tech here - MAY I ADD NOT OFFERING A SOAK OFF EVEN FOR THEIR OWN WORK!!!! like why??? for techs that claim about nail health BUT expect clients to what rip them off??? book a removal at a chop shop???

In my opinion you damage the nail more not doing fills. You’re exposing nail that’s already been prepped and repepping it with is slowly overfilling that nail

I always tell people sculpted nails are a regular commitment, esp hard gel which doesn't soak off. 90% of my clients are fills lol. Only a few of my soft gel clients get soak offs when they go too long between apts and the nails are in dire straits

Half my books are for fills. It’s so much faster than doing a soak off and new set

This is wild! I offer fills I just don’t charge a separate fill charge I just charge the full set price. My clients do come 1 time a month so every month it’s a rebalance. But to want to do a full removal every time is crazy

Ask Doug Schoon, he has an article on this somewhere. The body absorbs the solvents even when using Vaseline to protect the skin. Soaking off every time is not healthy at all!!! Do it Only when needed!!!

The hrll? WHAT! I tell everyone 3 weeks MAX & I only do structure gel. God bless America! I cannot! And I heard so many girls say they don’t do cuticles and I had to teach them what a cuticle clean bit was and the difference in the diamond bits that I have from Katie Barnes tool and they had no flipping clue

Newer nail tech here. 5 years experience. I have no idea why others don’t offer it. I don’t offer dip because I think the removal is so unnecessarily damaging. I will never put my clients through that.

As a nail gel nail tech for 33 years! I never understand this. Other than they don’t know how to do fills and make them last 🤷🏼♀️I don’t understand soaking off nails either.

People have lost the talent to fill, either their nails are bad after a few weeks due to lofting, there’s an art to it, all I do all day is fills. With the exception of Gelx or builder in a bottle.

hard gel extensions removing honestly never bc i have a very decent conversation before applying about removal and process and changing i may change shape a bit but in a month im not removing them babies like that my clients don’t put me through that and if i did have clients like that we would not be working w hard gel and i would explain to them why. its a lengthy process all the way around filing down removal plus it doesnt soak so its grow out and then sculpting or resculpting that why i have the policies i do have. I guess just as much as clients are picky with nail techs i am with clients i don’t keep clients who would constantly push my policies or boundaries

I won’t even do new sets of acrylics, I replace a nail here or there only if it’s crying for help.
