The rainbow spinner made him know it was a safe house. We have a flag in our front yard for the same reason. We have scary Trump neighbors with their hate flags everywhere. I want people to know we are safe.

The fact he had his families number written on a piece of paper and didn’t have a phone might explain his situation at home, also he said “papa” like a grandpa and then auntie so he must not have his parents. When I was younger some houses in my neighborhood had special stickers or signs on their doors letting kids know they could come there for help. Is that still a thing? I forget what the stickers looked like.
