That’s illegal in my state. I thought it was illegal in most states, actually.

if they want to do that they need to get a car with 'Dog Mode', it keeps the vehicle at a specific temp with circulation.

If it’s not shorter than 10 minutes, you shouldn’t be leaving your dog in the car

Cali is absolutely right! The reason why dogs shouldn't be left in a car at all is the fact that they rely on a process of vasodilation and panting to stay cool. Which means they require access to cool air otherwise they end up getting severely ill or passing away due to heatstroke. This is an unfortunate flaw dogs have since they rely on this to cool off. The only sweat glands they have are in their paw pads and they don't function like humans do. I really wish people did their research before having an animal. She should leave the poor dog at home, it would be a lot safer

for the people who claim they bring they dogs with them because their dogs have separation anxiety, you're still leaving your dog alone whether they're in the car or at home, and they have a lot less room to move around in a car even if the conditions are perfect

I once left my dogs in the car with the window cracked for literally two minutes on a cool, overcast day when I had to use the bathroom during a 2-hour drive from my parents' house to mine. Aside from that, absolutely not.

If I see a dog in the parking lot longer than like 10 minutes with the car closed up and off and it’s hot I call the cops. I’ve done it before at the grocery store. I sat a while and gave the person time to like idk realize they forgot it or smth. But they still didn’t come so I called

I bring my fur babies if I have them in the car I would take them with me but why would you go to a gym and not at least roll the freaking windows down a little bit leave water and food with them if you knew that you were going to be going to work out get them a kennel that they cannot get out of and leave them home or leave them with a loved one

I was left in a hot car as a child for an hour. That was horrible and I needed to go to the hospital. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I feel so sorry for the dog. People like that shouldn't have animals or children

Don't leave an animal in heat no matter if in a car or outside. Period. People will take your animal to safety. I heard a story of a girl taking a dog from in front of a public swimming pool after it's been confirmed by witnesses it was there for an hour in direct sunlight and during very high temperatures. Poor thing was dehydrated.

Yes it’s not ok to leave a dog alone in the car without proper tools, but waggles will alert the owner immediately if it’s too hot. My dog is often left in the car at different events (like dock diving for example) I have a temperature monitor so I can check on her and it alerts me when it’s too hot. And she has a fan. She has a crate with padding that’s a safe comfortable space for her. She has water in there and on hot days I open the windows and sunroof, and I can crack the trunk while leaving the car locked. There’s ways to do it safely.
