Although I’m a certified personal trainer, doesn’t mean I’m awesome at all things fitness. I LOVE a good challenge and have always struggled with weakness in my deep core, hip flexors, internal/external rotation of my hips, and now my pelvic floor after kids. Here’s what I’ve learned (and have been been humbled by) the last 4 weeks. 🦋 Put simply: -I’ve found the weakest parts of my body and I’m making them strong -I’ve learned to power through movements and have already seen a difference in my hip flexor strength and mobility. Even my glutes are on fire sometimes! -I’ve learned to enjoy slower movements and found that it’s helping me become stronger through my range of motion. What an incredible improvement after only 4 weeks and 8 classes at @Club Pilates So if you’re intrigued by Pilates, read this next part >>>> YOUR PHYSIQUE MEANS NOTHING It doesn’t matter the body type, you can do Pilates. The stigma of Pilates is just for flexy and superbly fit women is out. What’s in? Everyone who’s anyone, working on these tiny muscles to work in coordination with the rest of the body to build strength from the inside out. There are people twice my age in there that can perform movements while I’m still shaking in the straps! ENDURANCE IS KEY I can push through any HIIT class but Pilates requires a certain mindset that requires body awareness and continous form/posture control. That’s hard to do when holding certain positions and has helped me hone in that mind over matter strategy. SLOW AND INTENTIONAL WINS THE RACE I’m use to listening to hype music while getting my sweat on. This is a different type of exercise. One that requires peace of mind yet a fire in the soul for tuning into what your strength has to offer. BREATHING through movements when you don’t feel like it. Slowly moving through the movement to find strength through your full range of motion. It’s an art and new found strength is the masterpiece! #pilates #Fitness #momsover30 #core #pilateslovers
