@radnbadpodcast: P***ed off is an understatement. These trends related to #RBT and #BCBA workplace humor and day to day struggles is hurting the field of #ABA and #appliedbehavioranalysis. #radnbadpodcast does not stand behind this and here is why…learn more when we present at the first The Underground Conference. I think it it’s important that we call it out in a respectful way. If we sit back and watch it happen, we know the creators R+ of the clicks is so strong, it will continue. I’d also be more interested in the topic around social media and building community to discuss the struggles because everyone is entitled to that but obviously our clients come first.

These little videos you speak of are moving advocacy backwards YEARS. It is absolutely already degrading the professionalism of the field. If you aren't calling it out, you are part of the problem. Staying silent is giving them permission.

This is accurate.
I am a BCaBA & a BCBA intern. I just started a tik tok in June of this year. my goal being to share things on the learning side terms, resources ,etc as well as my journey. When I first started it was also my first time being on tik tok. There are some that I feel do ok and are not recorded in clinic, or sharing client information/struggles. others I watch and go....ummm what did I just see? I work in a small town, and I know there is a high probability of those I work with both coworkers, oversight, and clients and client families will see my vidoes. I dont want to share/post anything that would damage the trust I have spent alot of time developing with these families. It is not worth it. I also have some posts created by BCBAs in regards to RBTs. or RBTs creating videos about BCBAs. I feel like quite a few of those could damage a working relationship between an TBT and the BCBA as well. If your sharing a video(skit) about your frustration on supervision of some RBTs, your RBTs under you will see it.

Fellow BCBA here, and I agree wholeheartedly!!! I can only imagine client or caregivers seeing a video and feeling embarrassment because of such bad judgement.

is this the same if you share them privately with the people of the field
Been an RBT for 7.5 years. It shocks me how many people make videos.. In. The. Clinic just because you don’t show your client doesn’t mean you are not harming the client… also imagine if a mom, dad, brother, sister see what clinic their child goes too and their RBTs doing that….. I would be mad

As a parent .. I would LOOSE it if I found this out .. my child is not for anyone's entertainment! If you have such poor ethical standards that you do this how the hell could I ever trust you with my kid. THANK YOU for calling this out!!!!!!!

Yes! Give me the content about fun and unique reinforcers. Let’s avoid poking fun at severe or minor problem behaviors etc etc. Tbh I’m glad I don’t supervise anyone anymore.

Thank you so much for this video, it’s so frustrating seeing all these videos about “tough sessions” it’s your job. Get in that clinic and provide service to your patients!
