@maizimmy: NOT an expert. Just a mom doing her best. ANYONE who has tried to teach a child how to do a chore knows that it is not easy & takes patience. But I want to make sure my boys know how to do basic tasks as well as know they’re NOT above any tasks. Plus it helps them learn to appreciate when others do it for them. I am also aware this is important for girls too, but obviously I only have boys so that is what I am speaking to :) #boymom #momofboys #momlife #parenting #divorcedmom @Walmart @target @Hot Tools Pro @Coca-Cola @fairlife @Dave’s Killer Bread @Jif @Swanson Broths @Tillamook @Procter & Gamble @Ninja Kitchen @Disney+

My son is 20 months old and loves to help me dust and vaccum (with his toy vacuum). Chores build responsibility. There’s no magic fairy that will come empty your dishwasher when you are out on your own!

Hahahaha!!! My grandma raised three boys, including my dad, and they did a lot of chores, including dishes and other housework. My dad and uncles were pretty manly and hardly simps as that commenter said. I hate to see what that person’s kids turn out to be.

I have all boys ranging from 5-17, everyone cares for the home we share as a collective. From dishes and laundry to car washing and bathroom cleaning, I don’t want to raise boys who grow up being adult slobs that need catering to!

I made sure my sons knew how to clean, do laundry and cook simple meals. It was a favor to them and their future spouses.

As someone who went to a smart school, a lot of the people of any gender were insecure when they didn’t know how to do certain chores. And a lot of the men did know how to cook which is great

Teaching them… basic life skills?! Like I expect my adult child to live completely independently regardless of gender. She’ll raise boys who can’t take care of themselves and no one will want to be around them since their clothes will stink and apartments will be a mess.

My kids INCLUDING my son thank me all the time for teaching them to do basic household chores. Like what did this commentor think…someone ELSE will always be around to clean up after their kids?!?! That is one crazy thought process. No wonder my daughters complain there are no good men around. 😂😂

how else are they supposed to be able to be independent? if you dont teach them chores expectation from them would be to have a full time mom/wife and those are the fail men in relationships 😒
