@beantown_bully: I cannot even put into words how happy it makes me watching the progress he’s made! A year ago (and for a good 5 months in to his recovery), I could not see a light at the end of the tunnel. There was no guarantee he would ever walk again. Having a paralyzed, incontinent dog was one of the toughest things I’ve ever gone through. I was exhausted, frustrated, stressed, sad, angry and it put me into a bit of depression honestly. Our lives changed completely. Had to move downstairs in our home and make many life adjustments. Looking back to the beginning, I/we were so scared. We had no idea about IVDD. Navigating it was petrifying - waking up all through the night to change pee pads or to a surprise 💩, to check on him and make sure he was okay, having to learn to express his bladder and to see him struggle was heartbreaking. But through all of that, he remained his happy, silly, mischievous, charismatic, full of life self. We never gave up hope.
