spoilers // they don't cut off his face but they do cut off hinako's face cuz as a woman it's she who lose her identity and takes her husband's name. exactly how her sister no longer have a face instead she wears an owl mask. the mask symbolise that, clan/family name, and not literally cutting off face. They even burn/brand her body with clan symbol. All this is how Hinako fears about marriage. None of this actually happens.
