We say Lang-caster. NE/Bucks. Lancaster is for those from that county/area.

I’m from Delco. The accents are pretty good but at times you can tell they are trying too hard. Overall great job though! I’m just picky. My hometown Drexel hill was mentioned which was sick!

I'm from Delco and always pronounced it like lang-CAST-er 🫣 until I befriended some people from Lititz and they always told me I was not only mispronouncing it but mainly just emphasizing the wrong syllable!

Amazing how one word can pull you right out of it. Saw I dialect coach talking about how “teeterboro airport” ruined an actors otherwise convincing nj accent. He pronounced all the letters, we call it “TEED-a-burro”

Many philly people will incorrectly say Lan-caster. I did this until I learned later in life it was Lanc-aster.

To be fair, I grew up in NEPA and I didn’t know how to pronounce Lancaster until I met someone from there… so it’s believable that some people from Philly might not say it correctly.

My complaint as well… I’m from Lancaster and it’s driving me nuts. Lancaster has a kiss in the middle “LanKisster” I don’t have a lot friends from Delco County but everyone in that general area knows that drives people from Lancaster bonkers.
