@mikekalilmfg: In Japan, 7-Eleven is rushing to replace store workers with humanoid robots. The convenience store chain says it's developing a humanoid robot, named Astra, with Tokyo-based Telexistence for stocking, cleaning, and customer interaction. Telexistence has already deployed its TX Ghost robot that automates beverage restocking in chilled back rooms at select Tokyo stores. Seven Eleven Japan, which operates more than 20 thousand stores throughout the country, aims to bring the humanoids into stores by 2029. It's already tested autonomous delivery robots on the streets of Tokyo and robotic avatars for remote staff. Telexistence, launched in 2017, says its mission is to empower robots to "grasp every single object in the world" with advanced AI and practical robotics. Also known as TX, the firm is building a large-scale real-world motion dataset to train its next-gen machines. #ai #robotics #humanoidrobot #humanoidrobots #robots #clanker #technology #industry40 #robot #futureofwork #automation
