@10newsau: A least 20 people have died and over three dozen have been injured after a 6.9 magnitude earthquake shook central Philippines late Tuesday evening. The earthquake struck off the coast of Cebu City just before 10pm local time and led to power outages and damaged buildings in the region. At least 20 people had been confirmed dead and at least 37 were injured local media reported. The Cebu provincial government has put out a call on its official Facebook page for medical volunteers to assist in the aftermath of the quake. "There could be people trapped beneath collapsed buildings," provincial rescue official Wilson Ramos told AFP, citing rescue efforts underway in San Remigio and Bogo. He said he did not know how many people were missing.
