lky asset enhancement make a person work their whole life for a 99 years lease. imagine whole life saving go down the drain when the lease turn zero value and u can't pass to grandchildren . is fallacy.

Of course it can be done if the government implements a price control of re-sale of HDB flat and all HDB resale must be sold back to HDB or another government agency at the depreciated price from year 1 of the purchase. Is the government willing to take up this challenge?

It’s not inflation. Inflation is price goes up and never goes down property prices goes down because of over supply or lease is due to expire

HDB (Public-Housing) due to Population-Increase AIM, New SPRs+SCs buying Resales, SKYROCKETING Prices+Out-Of-Control. Resales; ECs & BTO Affordability for LOCALS are badly affected. SPECULATED+SELLING above S$1 Million dollars including 4Rm apartments. Instead of INCREASING SUPPLY, HDB increased the GRANTs, thus ESCALATING PRICES further beside existing + future New SPRs & SCs already in the DEMAND queue. Only till lately it was announced VERS to replace SERS. Geylang Lor 3, all EXPIRED-lease units were returned to state with NO-COMPENSATION

just let deflation reset everything just like China, Japan and even Hongkong whereby their prices drop as much as 40%. That day will come for singapore.

HDB is a home, a necessity, not an investment instrument. We don’t need price stagnation. We need it to be regulated to keep up with inflation.

you can stay in your HDB all your life but you can only sell back to the Government at a fixed price.

leave it to the real estate agent to say “it’s too unrealistic for me not to profit from the housing market”

It's not just inflation. It's a lack of supply exercabated by the huge increase in population. That's on the HDB. Prior to the Asian financial crisis, there was ample supply and prices rose only based on inflation. Today SS and DD imbalance has caused it. Agree with Christopher Gee

Given that HDB flats have a 99-year lease, their values cannot keep appreciating forever. A higher purchase price simply leads to larger depreciation over time
