Cop is wrong. It’s public access but privately owned bussiness. They can refuse service to anyone and asked them to leave. Cop is only acting tough because it’s a brown guy behind the counter who doesn’t know the law.

A private property has all rights to refuse the service if a person is loitering. Nobody can tell them what to do. They can ask to leave under Trespass to Property Act. Officers job is to investigate and act not to defend anyone.
