The real “monsters” aren’t the great white sharks at all — they’re the five people kayaking and the woman doing the interview. What do you expect when you venture into their environment? You think the sharks should roll out a red carpet and politely welcome you? The same goes for humans who stroll into the African plains, then act surprised or outraged when lions defend their territory. It isn’t the sharks or the lions that are out of place, it’s us. Humans are the intruders, yet we’re quick to label nature as dangerous when all it’s doing is protecting itself.
