The Indri is Madagascar's largest living lemur. ๐ฒ๐ฌ These unique primates also go by the name of babakoto, weigh up to 9.5kg and are incredibly vocal. ๐ฃ An Indri couple stays together until death and they live in small family groups. ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ ๐๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ Scientists still don't know the exact meaning of this call but theories include communication between groups, setting of territory and boundaries, informing about the reproductive potential of group members or a warning signal. ๐ฌ ****************************************** ๐ฃ Let's spread some awareness about lemurs!
