@lia_tuso: I would like to officially take credit for this change from Delta Air Lines. 😂 Back in March, there were whispers that Delta might update their policy on those “in-flight comfort devices” …, you know those inflatable beds, hammocks, foot rests, that I’ve been warning parents against using. Well, drumroll please 🥁… it’s now crystal clear on their website: Delta does not allow in-flight comfort devices that attach to the seat or inflatable beds due to the safety risks. ❌ Save yourself the money.
❌ Save yourself the hassle.
✅ And most importantly, save yourself the risk. The safe way for your little one to fly is in an FAA-accepted child restraint system (CRS) … not a blow-up mattress wedged between seats. So parents, skip the gimmicks, save the money and stick with what’s safe. Your child’s comfort and safety is always worth it. 💺👶✈️ #delta #childsafety #airplane #familytravel #traveltiktok

Flying on an airplane is a safety risk. Flying with an infant on your lap is a safety risk. Standing up to go the bathroom on a flight is a safety risk. I’ve not used the inflatable bed but I have used the hammock style attachment that clips on to the tray table with my toddler in the seat in between my wife and I, and it was a game changer. Thanks for making parents traveling with small kids that much more difficult.

I have taken my kids to Europe on their car seats. I will die on that hill. They know their safe seats. If you care so much about comfort, leave the kids at home, the jet lag will throw them off either way and will be cranky.

Someone who has actually used one on a long flight would never celebrate this.

I don’t think they’ve ever been allowed? I flew to Paris a year ago and researched this and they weren’t allowed even back then

If the plane is going down, sitting in the chair is not going to save you

If this is not allowed than infants should not be allowed to be in a parent’s lap.

So on a 12 hour flight, you expect a child to ride strapped into a car seat? That’s absurd.
