🚗 HIP CARs 🚗 These are an essential part of the MVMNT practice & here’s why: ✅ teaches the hip to move independently from the lower back ✅ the best way to explore & expand hip rotation ✅ helps increase body awareness of the core while the hip is in motion ✅ great exercise for developing motor control and pelvic stability Try this movement on each side of the hip, and complete 5 slow & controlled reps. Focus on the movement coming from the hip & try to minimize movement from the lower back. A cue that has helped me: press the shoulder blades away from each other & down towards the hips & tuck the front lower belly towards the ribs without changing the neutral position of the spine. It won’t be perfect the first time you practice it (or the third or 20th time). We want progress, not perfection! Allow yourself to approach this movement with a beginner's mindset and forgive yourself quickly when you make a mistake. Mistakes only mean you have lots of potential for improving the skill the more practice you put in!
