Jim Carrey was never this absolutely spot on with his impressions but Jim is his own hilarious unique animal. Matthew Friend is not that unique, generational animal like that, albeit he is funny as absolute hell with the impressions. So stay there dawg! 😁

Obviously you can do more, grow, etc. But the difference is how incredibly unique you are as an impressionist. You’re on a different level. And you understand how to make THAT satisfying, relevant and special.

That’s interesting to consider. Especially as a fan of yours and of comedy. It’s similar to people paying to see a band and they don’t play the hits. I think as long as what you write and perform is genuine, what you deliver will be received as well as your impressions. The impressions can start to be more of a subtle seasoning or finishing salt for what you’ve prepared and served up for your fans and audiences. Best of luck! Jim Carrey went the Kevin Pollak route. Yes both can still do impressions but they do more of their own stuff than impressions. Jim more so now than Kevin.
