I will say, I understand why Phee brought up the younger players, they drive league engagement. But the way she specifically mentions Caitlyn to incite anger towards Cathy felt deliberate because they all know that the conversation will reach even further bringing Caitlyn into it. Then the world loses their minds because Caitlyn doesn’t have a ready response. It was straight forward for others to reply quickly. Caitlyn did need to formulate something. Her reactions are judged very differently.

Listen when you have built a relationship with your WNBA players and you are highly talked about within the players. They will trust her in the way she moves, acts, speaks for them. Phee has built that report and she is wisely using her platform to speak out on their behalf.
